The Android Tablet market is growing at a faster rate and Apple is taking notice. It was only a matter of time before this happened as it represents an ever changing market for technology. Apple once was able to claim 60% of the market with its innovative iPad device. At this point in time, market share for Apple now sits at the 32% mark. This should come as no surprise however. While the market share has decreased, sales have not. Shipments of their latest iPad have fell from 17 million to near 15 which may coincide with a product line revamp by Apple later this year.

On another note, 84% of North American Web Traffic from Tablets are from Apple products. Apple CEO Tim Cook expressed, "iPad accounts for 84% of the web traffic from tablets which is absolutely incredible and so if there are lots of other tablets selling I don’t know what they are being used for because that’s a pretty, the basic function is web browser." Android tablets trail in comparison accounting for 9% of web traffic.

As of June 2013, Apple has sold over 155 million iPads
